An item assembly is the list of components that are required to complete an activity. For example, to replace drywall, you will typically need:
• Gypsum board
• Metal corner bead
• Drywall joint compound
• Drywall nails
• Drywall screws
• Joint tape
• Drywall Installer/Finisher
Adding assemblies to your item activities makes calculating material and labor costs more accurate.
1. Click Items.
2. Select the item you want to edit.
3. Click the activity (+, -, or R) you want to add an assembly to.
4. If the activity is not already active, click Add Activity.
5. Click Add.
6. Select the component type.
7. Select the component.
8. The entry field acts as a search so you don't have to memorize every code for every type of material.
9. Adjust the Direct Yield if needed.
10. Select a supporting event. For material, this will be a waste assumption. For labor, this will be a labor efficiency value.
11. Click Okay.
12. Repeat steps 5 to 10 until all necessary components are added to the assembly.
13. Click Save.
